Four laying breeds we keep year-round, hatched in small batches and sold straight run. Grown, sexed birds are available too when we have them.

One of the most productive brown-egg layers there is. Tough, adaptable, and calm — a homestead staple that keeps laying through heat, cold, and short winter days.

A stunning ornamental dual-purpose bird — silver feathers edged in black lacing, a rose comb that shrugs off frost, and a docile temperament that makes them easy to keep.

Our blue-egg layers — Ameraucanas (often searched as “Americana”), Easter Eggers, and Olive Eggers. They fill the basket with blue, green, and olive eggs and make colorful, friendly additions to a free-range flock.

About straight run
Day-old chicks are sold straight run — you get whatever hatched, which over a batch works out close to half cockerels. We don't vent-sex, because doing it badly is worse than not doing it. If you need hens for certain, buy grown pullets from us instead and we'll tell you exactly what you're taking home. Check your city ordinance on roosters before you fall in love with one.
